I have consumed more than my share of apple crisp in the fall, but typically when apple season ends so does my obsession with desserts topped by a sugar, butter and flour crumble. When a beautiful picture of Rhubarb-Ginger Crumble arrived in my email this week the urge for that buttery topping came right back.
It might be a bit early in the season in New England for rhubarb as I had to go to three different stores to find some. With rhubarb in hand the rest of the dessert is a snap however – simply mix it with some fresh ginger and a liberal amount of sugar, then top with a crumble of more sugar, flour and butter. Probably not the healthiest dessert ever…but hey, it’s dessert!
For those of you missing that apple crisp experience this is a recipe that is most definitely worth trying.
